Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of SubFT. Please read them carefully before creating an account, purchasing credits, or starting AI-powered processing.

Acceptance of Terms

By using SubFT or creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using SubFT on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorized to act on behalf of that business.

Description of Service

SubFT is a platform for subtitle workflows, including transcription, OCR recognition, translation, editing, and export of subtitles. AI processing is only initiated when you trigger corresponding jobs.

We may develop, modify, or discontinue features as required for operations, security, product development, or legal requirements.

User Obligations

You are responsible for ensuring that you hold all necessary rights to uploaded files, subtitles, and other content. You must not use SubFT for illegal content, rights infringements, bypassing technical protection measures, abuse, spam, security attacks, or overloading the infrastructure.

Credits and Usage Licenses

Credits purchased on SubFT are prepaid, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licenses to access automated machine processing time within the platform. Credits do not constitute legal tender, currency, electronic money, bank deposits, or stored financial value, and have no independent monetary value outside SubFT.

Credits are strictly closed-loop and personal to your account. They may only be redeemed for automated processing services provided directly by SubFT. You may not sell, gift, assign, transfer, or exchange credits with other users or third parties. Credits cannot be redeemed, withdrawn, or exchanged for cash or fiat currency at any time.

Credits are deducted when machine processing is initiated or completed in accordance with the billing metrics displayed in the workspace. If an automated job is canceled before processing begins or fails due to an internal system error, credits are automatically restored to your account.

SubFT reserves the right to adjust future credit consumption rates or pricing metrics for new jobs. Any such change will not alter your existing credit balance. If you voluntarily request deletion of your SubFT account, any remaining unconsumed credits are permanently forfeited without entitlement to cash reimbursement.

Refunds and Withdrawal

Payments for credit packages are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd or its affiliates), which is responsible for order fulfillment, invoicing, and the collection and remittance of applicable sales taxes and VAT at checkout.

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of the transaction date without giving any reason.

If you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal for an entirely unused credit package within 14 days, you will receive a 100% refund. If you expressly request and begin consuming credits for machine processing during the 14-day withdrawal period, you agree to pay proportional value compensation for the processing services already performed. In such cases, any refund will be calculated strictly proportional to the remaining, unconsumed credits of that package. Credits that have already been consumed for completed processing are non-refundable.

After the expiration of the 14-day statutory withdrawal period (and for business customers), all credit purchases are final and non-refundable. There is no voluntary right to return or cash out unconsumed credits.

To request a statutory withdrawal or refund, you must submit your request exclusively through Paddle using the support link provided in your transaction confirmation receipt or via Paddle's buyer support portal at paddle.net. Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, all payment reversals and refunds are handled through Paddle's platform. Any partial refund will be determined in accordance with verified unconsumed credit records in your SubFT account.

Content and Intellectual Property

You retain your rights to the content you upload and the subtitle outputs generated for you. You grant SubFT the rights necessary to store, process, transmit, and provide features to you.

SubFT, the software, user interfaces, trademarks, and platform components remain the property of SubFT or the respective right holders.

Availability and Changes

We endeavor to ensure reliable operation, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, security measures, service provider outages, or technical disruptions may temporarily restrict use.

Liability

We are liable without limitation in cases of intent, gross negligence, injury to life, limb, or health, and under mandatory statutory provisions.

Otherwise, we are only liable in accordance with applicable law. For slight negligence, we are only liable for the breach of material contractual obligations and limited to foreseeable damages typical for this type of contract.

Governing Law

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Mandatory consumer protection regulations of the country where you have your habitual residence remain unaffected.
